The field of coastal and ocean engineering encompasses structural, environmental, hydraulic, computational, meteorological, and navigational topics. This is the first volume of a three-volume unified reference to the principal theories and practices in this broad field. Volume 1 provides insight into various complex wave theories, statistics, probability, and design applications. It also addresses wave-current interaction and changes in water levels caused by various physical phenomena, including the greenhouse effect.
