At lasta readable book on the acting profession written with clarity and honesty. The authors name names (over 100 actors are quoted) and the emphasis is on working careers in film, TV, radio, and theater. Among the subjects covered are food, rent, wardrobe, transportation, answering services, professional expenses (photos, classes, resumes), health care, agents, unions, pay scales, contracts, interviews, and just plain survival. Sample audition materials and important addresses and phone numbers are included. This book will inspire some to become actors and discourage others. And that's as it should be. Recommended. James L.
