Ripken grew up in a baseball family; from 1987 to 1992, Cal, his brother, and his father were all with the Orioles. During his successful career, Cal has established a consecutive playing streak second only to that of Lou Gehrig. He and his wife, Kelly, have been actively involved in many community activities.
