IRVIN HASHIMOTO has taught at the University of Northern Colorado Laboratory School, the University of Michigan, and Idaho State University. He has received four major teaching awards at three different institutions, has been on the Executive Committee of the Conference on College Composition and Communication, and has written several dozen articles for the major publications in the English teaching field. He lives in Walla Walla, Washington, where he directs the Whitman College Writing Center
