Maidens Volume One is a the first sketchbook of art from Award-Winning Science-Fiction, Fantasy and Comics illustrator Monte M. Moore. The sketchbook showcases a love of such topics as Mermaids, Dragons, Warrior Maidens and much more. This book is primarily a "pin-up" style sketchbook with a large portion of the book devoted to tasteful drawings of beautiful women. Throughout the book are insights from the artist about working with the models, art techniques, and fun anecdotes about the world of fantasy illustration.

Born in 1971 in Phoenix Arizona, this now Denver resident, recieved his Bachelor of Fine Arts from Colorado State University. While in school Monte's art helped him recieve many scholarships and grants to help defer the cost of higher education. Graduating from college in 1993, Monte started working in the field of comic books doing the rare pin-up and cover art for small publishers. Slowly through the years, Monte started working on more covers, and pin-ups and realized that the fields of Science-Fiction, Fantasy and Comics were much more appealing than that of traditional commercial art. In 1998, Monte's work was Awarded "Best Black and White" drawing at the World Fantasy Art Show in Monterey, California. Also that same year, Monte's work was seen in Spectrum 7, a juried art competition designed to showcase the very best of that years Contemporary Fantasy Art in the field. Since then Monte's work has appearing on dozens of comic book covers, novel covers, magazines, role-playing games and much more. Monte's clients have included Marvel Comics, National Lampoon Magazine, Image Comics, Wizards of the Coast (Harry Potter, Magic: The Gathering, Dungeons & Dragons, Alternity), Harris Comics, Chaos!
