Systems represented in a piecewise linear (PL) form are studied in an attempt to develop systematic stabilization techniques The author argues that combining these systems with PL Lyapunov functions can provide a framework for systematic design that deals usefully with uncertainties and nonlinearities in the presence of state and control constraints. Chapters look at robust stabilization of orthogonal PL systems, stabilization of conic PL systems, the ray-gridding approach for constrained stabilization, PL optimal control, and future research directions.
