Original Wraps. Zustand: Very Good. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: No Jacket, as Issued. First Edition. A first printing published in 1976 - a small booklet in the 'Paths to Inner Power' series. ***Very good in black illustrated card covers, with a flat spine. The covers are clean and unmarked - just slightly rubbed at the edges. No creases or tears. Light fading to the spine. Internally near fine with no previous ownership inscriptions. Interior pages clean with no foxing - just light tanning (cheap paper stock used). No creases or tears. ***178mm x 108mm. 64 pages. ***'Dowsing is a type of divination employed in attempts to locate many types of objects and materials without the use of technical equipment or a scientific apparatus. It may be applied to seek ground water, buried metals or ores, gemstones, oil, claimed radiations (radiesthesia), gravesites, or malign "earth vibrations". It is also known as divining (especially in water divining), doodlebugging (particularly in the United States, in searching for petroleum or treasure) or water finding, or water witching (in the United States). A Y-shaped twig or rod, or two L-shaped ones, called dowsing rods or divining rods are normally used, and the motion of these are said to reveal the location of the target material. The motion of such dowsing devices is generally attributed to random movement, or to the ideomotor phenomenon, a psychological response where a subject makes motions unconsciously.' (Wiki) ***'This book explains the dowsing, or water-divining, phenomenon, its history and present-day application, and also how would-be dowsers can recognize and develop the ability. The author discusses the relative merits of the instruments available, and different aspects such as radiesthesia and map dowsing, as well as astral projection and its link with dowsing.' (Quote taken from the first printed page summary) ***A very interesting little booklet - surprisingly uncommon in any printing. A lovely copy of this fragile item. ***For all our books, postage is charged at cost, allowing for packaging: any shipping rates indicated on ABE are an average only, and we will reduce the P & P charge where appropriate (e.g. for paperbacks and pamphlets). For heavier books and sets, please contact us for postal rates before ordering, especially if purchasing from outside the UK. Artikel-Nr. PB800
