A story written for older children or young teens, featuring a super-villain, head of the organization called Numeranarchists, who wants to blow up the world or in this case, wants civilization to give up computers; he starts creating random malfunctions in the computers world-wide and gives progressively direr warnings to the world to stop using them. The young protagonist is trapped in an environment featuring a series of physical and intellectual hurdles - to advance or escape, the hero must solve problems based on mathematical principles and the readers have to solve these problems along with him. Although the programming language is now dated, when this was published in 1977, it was ahead of its time in including programming prompts alongside classical geometry. It anticipated the modern STEM framework by showing how mathematical logic directly translates into machine computing. By including complex math in a humorous story it made mathematical concepts much more accessible. 143 pp. Near fine in near fine dust jacket (a bit of rubbing to the dj). Artikel-Nr. 93697
