Inhaltsangabe

In a collection of 13 of his essays from the late 1980s and 1990s on early modern and Elizabethan drama, Levin (emeritus, English, State U. of New York, Stony Brook) is "nothing if not critical" (in Iago's words) regarding such interdisciplinary/polarized/politicized US and British academy approaches as feminism, the new historicism, and variants of Freudianism and Marxism.
