What if . . .
What if life isn&;t about finishing on top,
   but knowing when to stop?
What if life isn&;t about learning to live with stress,
but learning to live with less?
What if life isn&;t about pushing yourself to the limit,
   but embracing every minute?
What if life isn&;t about constant action,
   but eliminating distraction?
What if life isn&;t about what you chase,
   but resting in God&;s grace?
The Power of Pause will forever change the way you think about and live your life. When you develop the capacity to do less, you&;ll find that you can become so much more&;more present to those you love and to your own life, more in awe of the daily joys and wonders of this world, more focused on the little things, which are really the big things.
If you&;re ready to be totally surprised by the gift of stillness, then it&;s time to experience the power of pause&;for the &;rest&; of your life!
Simplify your life.
Clarify your goals.
Multiply your joys.

Terry Hershey, popular speaker and frequent retreat leader, understands that life is busy and getting busier. However, he also knows from personal experience that there is always a price to pay if we don&;t regularly take time simply to pause&;to cease activity, to treasure quiet time, and to discern the deep meaning of life&;s little moments.
In The Power of Pause, Hershey counters the cultural decree that says we cannot lead a fulfilling life unless we are constantly doing something and, at least metaphorically speaking, going somewhere. Through 52 short chapters&;each filled with an inspiring quote, a powerful story or meditation, and a specific call to action&;we come to realize the profound value of stillness in our days and balance in our lives. We are also challenged by Hershey&;s meditations to move forward by making intentional decisions rather than reactionary ones, and by refocusing our desires and goals on the things that truly count.
The Power of Pause encourages all of us, regardless of who or where we may be, to slow down, reconnect with what&;s important, and take back the life we were always intended to have.

Terry Hershey is the founder of  Hershey & Associates, an organization that provides workshops and seminars on building balanced lives and healthy relationships. He is also a professional garden designer who savors daily pauses in his personal garden that surrounds his home on Vashon Island, Washington, where he lives with his wife and son. Terry is the author of nine books, including Beginning Again and Soul Gardening. To learn more about Terry Hershey, visit loyolapress.com/terryhershey.
