Inhaltsangabe

Bochner (1899-1982) worked in a variety of different areas of mathematics in a long and productive career. For the convenience of those using these volumes, the papers are grouped in 11 different categories: Fourier analysis and real analysis in Volume one (0174-0, $113); almost periodic functions, probability, and complex analysis in Volume two (0175-9, $116); functions of several complex variables, differential geometry, and differential equations in Volume three (0176-7, $108); and Lie groups, miscellaneous mathematical papers, and history in Volume four (0177-5, $67). the collection does not contain the many reviews of other papers and books that Bochner wrote, nor, of course, does it reproduce his seven books on mathematical and historical topics. The papers appear to be reproduced directly from their first published appearances, but the print quality is uniformly excellent. The majority of papers are in English, with a goodly number in German, and one in French. The price of the set is $220 for members. Annotation copyright Book News, Inc. Portland, Or.
