ALAIN P. TOUMAYAN is director of the Program in Philosophy and Literary Studies at the University of Notre Dame, as well as an associate professor in the Romance Languages & Literary Studies Department. His previous publications include Literary Generations and La Litterature et la hantise du Mal: Lectures de Barbey d'Aurevilly, Huysmans et Baudelaire.
