It names 27 places across 42 dated entries. Alongside the daily entries the volume carries 84 reports, narratives and plans, 64 Operation Orders, twelve appendices, six maps and eleven diagrams. Among the papers are: Artillery and Trench Mortar Programme to Be carried out in Conjunction with the raid; Express Digital Copy Service order Details; Artillery instructions numbered 1 to 30 (15 of them); Table a issued with Artillery instructions No 3; Artillery instructions No 4 instructions for W Day; Appendix B issued with Artillery instructions No 8; Time Table a issued with Artillery instructions No 11; Amendments No. 1 to 34th Divisional Artillery operation order numbered 1 to 10 (3 of them); Appendix (V) A. issued with 34th Division Artillery operation order No 10; 34th Div Arty Instruction No 22; 34th Div Arty Instruction No 25; 34th Divisional Artillery Instruction No 26. The diary opens at Sunderland on 1 February 1915. 1915 is spent at No 3 Camp Corton, Featherstone Park Haltwhistle Northumberland, Sunderland, Houghton Le Spring and Kirkby Malzeard, Near Ripon Yorks. 1916 is the most travelled year, 16 places against 8 in the next busiest, and is spent at Chapelle D'Armentieres, Albert, Tara Valley Albert, Fleurbaix and Erquinghem. 1917 at Hervilly, Arras, Chapelle D'Armentieres, Steenwerck and Villers Brulin. It closes at Hervilly on 31 August 1917. Chapelle D'Armentieres is where it spent longest, 158 days across seven separate stays and the longest it stayed anywhere without moving was 58 days at No 3 Camp Corton. Trench and battlefield features named in the diary include Belleview Farm Albert. In 1915 it is also recorded at Corton Wilts and No. 3 Camp, Corton, Wilts. In 1916 it is also recorded at No 3 Camp Corton, Southampton, Havre, Herbelle, Blaringhem, Lumbres, Belleview Farm Albert, Qyerrieu and Armentieres.
