Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

Chris Roush has a bachelor's degree in history and journalism from Auburn University and a master's degree in mass communication from the University of Florida. He is an assistant professor at the School of Journalism and Mass Communication, where he teaches in the News/Editorial department. He has taught newswriting, specialized reporting, business reporting, and economics reporting. He is one of the few full-time professors in the country working to develop improved academic training in the growing field of business journalism. Before entering the academic world, Roush worked as a business journalist for the
Sarasota Herald-Tribune, Tampa Tribune, Atlanta Journal-Constitution, BusinessWeek and Bloomberg News. He was also editor-in-chief of a Virginia publishing company that produced magazines, such as Thrift Investor and Insurance Investor. In addition, Roush wrote a book about retail giant, Home Depot, in 1999 and was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize in 1993 in the beat reporting category. He is also the founding director of the Carolina Business News Initiative, created in November 2002, to improve the quality of business reporting and editing throughout mass communication in the state of North Carolina through training, outreach, and undergraduate education.
