This book should find an enthusiastic audience among fans of his incredibly popular films, as it offers impressive explanations of his work, a chronology, and an extensive bibliography. The collection lacks photographs and a strong personal view of the man. Readers gets snippets of his upbringinghis mother's strong influence and his fascination for fantasybut little narrative insight is offered. The research style and the length make this difficult as pleasure reading for average young people, but the attention to detail and the in-depth coverage make the book a marvelous reference source.
