Modern Irish Literature (Library of Literary Criticism) - Hardcover

Rezensionen

Here is a compilation of excerpts from the best reviews and criticism on 87 Irish authorspoets, dramatists, novelists, short story writers, and essayists. The critical heritage of many of these figures, including Beckett, Joyce, O'Casey, Synge, and Yeats, has already been covered elsewhere in this series ( Modern British Literature, Vols. 1-5, and Major Modern Dramatists, Vol. 1). This volume, however, offers a more varied and comprehensive coverage of these major authors and considers at length minor authors, completing the picture of the national literature of modern Ireland. Such a reference is probably most helpful to students, but because it often indicates an author's changing status or the particular interests his or her work provides for critics, the specialist will find it useful as well.
