Roger E. Van Harn (1923-2019) was the pastor of multiple churches, including Grace Christian Reformed Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan, from 1977 to 1998. He was also the author or editor of several books after his retirement from ministry, including an Eerdmans lectionary commentary series.

Brent A. Strawn is D. Moody Smith Distinguished Professor of Old Testament and professor of law at Duke University. He is also a senior fellow in the Center for the Study of Law and Religion at Emory University and an ordained elder in the North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church.

Walter Brueggemann (1933-2025) was the William Marcellus McPheeters Professor emeritus of Old Testament at Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Georgia. In his writing and preaching, he emphasized social justice and church renewal. He was the author of numerous biblical commentaries and scholarly works, including The Prophetic Imagination, Sabbath as Resistance, Journey to the Common Good, Truth Speaks to Power: The Countercultural Nature of Scripture, and Reality, Grief, Hope: Three Urgent Prophetic Tasks.
