One of the serious deficiencies of biblical scholarship has been the lack of a practical, understandable, up-to-date intermediate Greek grammar. Students have--up to now--been forced to jump from a beginning grammar to being confronted--and overwhelmed--by mammoth or complex scholarly grammars. Now the transition can be made more easily.At an orderly pace Dr. Hewett's New Testament Greek moves the student from tile basics to the complexities of Greek syntax and grammar. Furthermore, it lays down a solid foundation of exegetical principles for the student moving from translating Greek to interpreting the New Testament. By engaging the student in rigorous translational and lexical exercises at the close of each section, Dr. Hewett guides the development of the student's language skills. While the book is extremely useful for teaching purposes, at the same time, it can be reconsulted for the resolution of special problems or questions. Thus, following its service as a textbook, it can be utilized as a "tool" in the days ahead.
