K. C. Hanson received his M.A. and Ph.D. from Claremont Graduate School (now University) and taught Old Testament and New Testament in several small colleges, seminaries, and universities. A leading authority in social-scientific studies of the Bible, he served as senior editor for biblical studies at Fortress Press (1998-2005) prior to taking his present position as editor in chief at Wipf and Stock Publishers (2005-)



Walther Zimmerli (1907-84) was Professor of Old Testament at the University of Gottingen, Germany, and one of the most important biblical scholars of the twentieth century. Among his many publications in English are Ezekiel, 2 vols. (Hermeneia; Fortress Press, 1979/1983), I Am Yahweh (1982), The Old Testament and the World (1976), and The Law and the Prophets (1965).
