The life-changing power of baptism lives on long after the physical event occurs -- and this beautifully illustrated book captures perfectly the sacrament's wonder and symbolism. Richard Jerpersen's thoughtful contemplations connect our common experience of water with the sacred meaning of baptismal water, and they are brought to life by Brenda Hermundstad Yirsa's breathtaking illustrations. Including numerous scripture quotations, this creative look at what God has done through baptism will help readers of all ages approach the sacrament with deeper reverence. It's a special way to preserve the memory of a momentous occasion or to enlighten those who are preparing for the baptism of a child or godchild.
Richard A. Jespersen is a graduate of Luther-Northwestern Theological Seminary (M.Div.) and North Dakota State University (M.S. in Education, Guidance and Counseling). He was the Central Colorado Regional Director for Lutheran Social Services prior to becoming the pastor of Christ Lutheran Church in Big Sandy, Montana.
Brenda Hermundstad Yirsa is an award-winning artist who draws her inspiration from the environment of central Montana as well as from the activities of her active farm and ranch family. She has exhibited her landscapes and portraits in numerous national art shows. Her work is displayed in various collections through the United States.
