Do You See What I See?

Despite the fact that many corporations have made attracting and recruiting people of color (POC) a top diversity priority, these organizations have failed to retain this talent once they are on board. Why? It is because of the enormous gap that exists between the way POC view the organizations in which they work and the way managers and leaders view these same organizations.

Do You See What I See? offers leaders, managers, and human resource professionals a unique and practical resource for understanding the behavioral subtleties and nuances that affect the retention of people of color within organizations. In Do You See What I See? the authors introduce a four-step Model for Retention. The model gives managers the practical tools and solutions they need and details critical "valuing" behaviors that establish the foundation for

  • Attracting and hiring;
  • Relating to and managing;
  • Developing;
  • Rewarding and promoting;
  • And ultimately, retaining people of color.

The book also includes valuable assessments to help determine whether the practices within an organization, and management behaviors—even the subtle ones—promote or undermine retention. Filled with insights and suggestions, this book offers a foundation upon which organizations can build to attract and keep the brightest and best POCs.
