Author of numerous publications, including Science Puzzlers from Jossey-Bass, he counts seven National Summer Science grants from the National Science Foundation among his many accomplishments.

What’s Up in Science? offers a rich selection of over 100 reproducible puzzles and literacy-building activities focusing on recent discoveries and issues in the earth, life, and space sciences. Most of the activities are short (15 to 20 minutes) and can be used to introduce standards-based lessons or for homework assignments. Special challenge activities are also included, inviting students to investigate and write about scientific topics.
