Changing demographics are changing philanthropy. To keep up with the pace of change, fundraisers from all communities must reach out to perspective donors of diverse ethnic and racial backgrounds. Opening Doors helps nonprofit organizations both understand the rich philanthropic traditions of diverse communities and develop effective outreach efforts. Based in solid research, the book is filled with practical strategies, suggestions, and action steps fundraisers can use to realize the philanthropic potential of people they are not currently reaching. Proven fundraising practices give nonprofit professionals the confidence and tools they need to attract diverse donors.
Although the American population continues to grow more diverse, fundraisers have not directed their development efforts at people of diverse cultures. If nonprofit organizations are to succeed in the future they must realize the fundraising potential of ethnically and racially diverse populations.
