Deidre Anne Evans Garriott is the writing center director and an instructor in the department of English at the University of South Carolina. She researches the intersections of public memory, racial justice, and identity as well as racial and social justice pedagogies in the writing center and classroom. In addition to her academic work, she is a published poet and a fiction writer. She lives in Columbia, South Carolina.
