Dialectical Social Science in the Age of Complexity - Hardcover

Inhaltsangabe

King (political science, Hendrix College) defends dialectical thinking first by finding the methodological unity within competing models of scientific thought, and then describing the Marxian dialectic inherent in the natural science model of inquiry. Attention is given to issues of consilience, holistic-relational sciences, and homology. The applications of a scientific dialectical methodology in the social sciences are discussed. And the political consequences of dialectical, holistic-relational social science are considered. Annotation c. Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
