Rodee was the curator of collections at the Maxwell Museum of Anthropology, U. of New Mexico, Albuquerque for 30-plus years. Her text combines a catalogue of the holdings of the Maxwell Museum with essays on the Pueblo, Navajo, Rio Grande and Northern Mexican weaving styles of the Southwestern U.S. The second edition includes a new preface with updated information on Navajo weaving since 1987, new yarns, male weavers, the Newlands style, the demise of saddle blankets, foreign copies, and new marketing techniques. Illustrated with 194 color plates and 385 b&w pictures, the text will be particularly appealing to collectors. Oversize: 9x12<">. Annotation (c) Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
