Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

Derek Hutchinson, an avid kayaker for almost half a century, is the leading international authority on sea kayaking. He is Coach Grade 5 in White Water, Sea, and Open Canoe. In 1972 he was awarded the status of Senior Coach in the British Canoe Union and was for many years Vice-Chairman of The National Coaching Committee and was its longest continuous serving member. He is a member of the Sea Touring Committee and the BCUs Expeditions Committee. Hutchinson has also designed paddles and many of the worlds leading sea kayaks, including the first fiberglass sea kayak to incorporate such safety items as watertight hatches, bulkheads, and fixed deck lines. In 1976 he wrote the first book on the sport of sea kayaking
