Carolyn Patten was born in California and had a rolling stone childhood, living in eight other states before landing in Palm Springs in 1989. In her work as managing editor of Palm Springs Life Magazine, director of public relations for the Ritz-Carlton and tourism pr director for Palm Springs, she made a career of knowing the desert inside and out.
