Über die Autorinnen und Autoren

Dr Phil Gates lectures on biology at the University of Durham, UK, and regularly writes for BBC Wildlife. His other books for children on natural history include The Aliens Are Coming, The Amazing World of Plants and 365 Days of Nature and Discovery.



Dr. Phil Gates is a senior lecturer in biological sciences at Durham University, in England, where his particular interests are evolutionary biology and natural history. He is also an award-winning author and journalist who has written 16 books for young people that have been translated into 14 languages. He regularly contributes articles on natural history to the Guardian newspaper and BBC Wildlife magazine in the U.K. and has been a frequent contributor to natural history programs on BBC Radio. He lives in northeast England with his wife, Susan, who is also a children's author.
