The soul, in its numerous incarnations, has long been a source of fascination, and because the spirit world is largely a product of human imagination, the soul appears in an endless parade of shapes and sizes. There are many beliefs about the world that the soul visits in the afterlife. The Christian concept of heaven is explored, but of course other religions encompass the idea of souls and spirits, ghosts and ghouls, and the book also looks at Eastern beliefs, Hinduism and the Muslim religions.
