Based on Stephen Biesty's book "Cross-sections: Castle" this CD-ROM aims to offer a combination of information and adventure. Children actually "enter history" as they travel about the castle, disguised as one of the inhabitants. They explore the detailed three-dimensional rooms as they search for a route out of the castle, interacting with the occupants on the way. The interior seeks to provide an authentic view of medieval life, and more information is available from the pop-up screens and the illuminated books in the chained library.
