Llandudno's history from as far back as prehistoric times right up to the present day is featured in this book. For centuries the village at the foot of the Orme led a quiet and peaceful, if not prosperous, existence - a far cry from the hustle and bustle of the busy tourist resort of today. Jim Roberts chronicles the history and development of the town in over 250 photographs and other illustrations, combined with informative captions written in an informal yet knowledgeable style. Many of the photographs in the book are from picture postcards taken over the years by photographers working for local and national companies, other sources being private collections and the author's own pictures. Old images are set beside images of the corresponding current view to provide the reader with an idea of how much has changed, or indeed remained the same over the years.

Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

Jim Roberts was born in Connah's Quay. Flintshire and has lived in Llandudno since his retirement in 1985. He was formerly head of the Education Department of the University College of Northampton.
