Each book in this series looks at one colour in detail, discussing its place in nature, food, festivals, literature and the human environment. The series is cross-curricular and aims to encourage the development of scientific, mathematical and literary skills. This book focuses on the colour green. It show how plants, many foods and some animals are green, and how consequently those who work to protect the environment are called "Greens". It deals also with the use of the colour to signal "go" and its frequent use in stories and legends. A topic web indicates the relevance of the book to various aspects of the National Curriculum at Key Stage l, especially to science work, and a project section is also included.
