This series aims to take a positive look at the world's major environmental problems and explain the threats facing the planet and the international efforts being taken to preserve it. The series is based on an earlier one entitled "Conserving Our World". Each book has been shortened and simplified with the intention of appealing to primary school children and meeting the special needs of secondary school children with reading difficulties. The texts have been checked by a language consultant. This book examines the world's rainforests, explaining how and why they are being destroyed and why it is essential that urgent action is taken to save them.
