Alice Adams is the New York Times bestselling author of ten novels and five short-story collections. She was the recipient of numerous awards, grants, and fellowships from the American Academy and Institute of Arts and Letters, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Guggenheim Foundation.
She lived in San Francisco until her death in 1999.
