Senator Bill Frist, M.D., served as a senator for 12 years and was the Majority Leader of the U.S. Senate. He has practiced medicine for twenty years and is a pioneer surgeon in heart and lung transplantation.

Frist is currently serving his first term as U.S. Senator from the state of Tennessee.
