No prior knowledge is assumed and therefore the book is equally suited to the novice using Excel for the first time or the browser wanting to add to his or her existing skills.

Philip Bowcock recently retired from the post of Lecturer in Valuation at the University of Reading after a total of 29 years in the Department of Land Management and prior to that in the College of Estate Management before the merger with the University in 1972. He has always been interested in mathematics and has been involved in the use of computers for the past 30 years.

Natalie Bayfield graduated in Property Valuation & Finance at the City University in 1998. In November 1998 she set up Bayfield Training which specialises in teaching Excel to the profession. She has worked with the City University, the University of Ulster, the University of Westminster and the Investment Property Forum instructing on the use of computers for property valuations.
