Modern investigative techniques such as fibre-optic endoscopy, computerized tomography, monoclonal antibodies and scanning electron microscopy have been used to help depict each system and diseases such as AIDS, "campylobacter pylori" gastritis and cryptosporidiosis and their effect on the digestive system are described. The book contains surgical specimens and histopathology in addition to the 500 colour photographs. Barium studies, CAT scans and arteriograms are also included.
