'The Nostradamus Encyclopaedia' presents all the currently known information about Nostradamus and his work in an accessible yet authoritative form.

It includes:

• new research demonstrating how Nostradamus arrived at his predictions

Nostradamus and his prophecies still fascinate us almost half a millennium after his death. Generations of Nostradamus scholars have offered their own interpretations of the seer’s cryptic predictions and many lay people are intrigued by the prescience of the sixteenth century French physician and by the prophecies’ relevance to life in the twenty first century. 'The Nostradamus Encyclopaedia' is at once a comprehensive introduction to the life, world and work of the great French seer and an invaluable reference tool for the established scholar. In one volume it offers detailed biographical, historical, geographical and cultural information (hitherto unpublished in English), reports on the most up to date research explaining how and why Nostradamus made his predictions, gives all the main prophecies in the original French editions, with brief English paraphrases, and summarises the most important previous interpretations to facilitate comparative study.

The book also lists the early editions preserved in the major libraries, and offers a Nostradamus dictionary and concordance. No comparable work in English offers such a wealth of information on the Prophet of Provence.

A former Cambridge linguist and professional translator, Peter Lemesurier has studied Nostradamus and his background intensively, both textually and on site, and written two major books on the subject: 'Nostradamus: The Next 50 Years' and its sequel 'Nostradamus: The Final Reckoning. ' He is also the author of the international best-seller 'The Great Pyramid Decoded' and many other books on deciphering and explaining ancient mysteries, both textual and otherwise. Born in 1936, he has enjoyed a varied experience of life as a professional musician, teacher and jet pilot.
