This volume completes a two-volume guide to manuscipts relating to South and South-East Asia held in public and private collections in Britain and Ireland. Volume 1, covering repositories in London, was published in 1989. The guide updates and expands Wainwright and Matthews: "Guide to manuscripts and documents in the British Isles relating to South and South-East Asian Studies (1965)", and includes a number of important collections not recorded in the earlier work. Most notably these are the collections of the India Office Library and Records (in Volume 1); the Cambridge Centre of South Asian Studies, Rhodes House Library in Oxford, and Churchill College Archive Centre in Cambridge (in Volume 2). Each volume contains a list of repositories.
