This work is designed to help English-speaking learners acquire a better pronunciation of German. It can be used as part of a course for those studying at university or college or by those studying at home and an audio cassette (separately purchasable) is also available, offering examples of the pronunciations covered in the book. The first two chapters of the book are introductory; the next two provide detailed descriptions of the individual consonants and vowel sounds in German which are replicated on the cassette tape; and the final two chapters cover stress and intonation and words in corrected speech.
