Inhaltsangabe

'A fine piece of work... very entertaining and informative... It should appeal and be useful to the generalist who wants an overview of science.’
SIR PETER RATCLIFFE, NOBEL LAUREATE

YOUR GUIDE TO SCIENCE, FROM THE BIG BANG TO ARTIFICAL INTELLIGENCE.

Youniverse is a short, accessible beginners' guide to modern science that explains some of the ways we know the incredible nature of our universe: what it is, how it works and, most importantly, what is your place in it? The Big Bang, matter, energy, particle physics, biology, evolution and the future of technology are the subjects.

Plain speech, short chapters, digestible chunks of information, and absence of scientific jargon and equations are the style. Science is a realm of marvels - worlds of the unimaginably big and the inconceivably small. Vetted by 13 distinguished scientists, including one Nobel Prize Winner and four Fellows of the Royal Society, you'll be in good hands as you travel through time and space. It's the book Elsie wished for when she first made this journey herself.

*** Praise for YOUNIVERSE ***

'I enjoyed and admired Youniverse - quite an eye-opener, actually, and answered many questions that had long puzzled me as well as exposing numerous matters I hadn't even realised I didn't know about. I love the economy and clarity and sense of fun with which the whole thing's carried off.'
ALAN HOLLINGHURST

'An amazing accomplishment. It will fill a gap in the literature.'
NEIL A.R. GOW, FRS, PROFESSOR OF MICROBIOLOGY AND DEPUTY VICE CHANCELLOR FOR RESEARCH AND IMPACT AT EXETER UNIVERSITY
