This guide to field athletics includes all of the major events - jumping (high jump, long jump, triple jump and pole vault), throwing (shot put, discus, hammer and javelin) and combination disciplines (pentathlon, heptathlon and decathlon). Each section covers safety, equipment, techniques and training aids. There are also chapters on competition and training in general. The book is illustrated with sequence photographs of top-class athletes demonstrating each event and with individual photographs of general skills and training methods.
