Inside Collett Dickenson Pearce - Hardcover

Inhaltsangabe

British advertising was revolutionised by CDP - Collett Dickenson Pearce. The ad agency, founded in the early 1960s, was responsible for the most innovative, creative, thought-provoking and downright funny advertising to hit the British public. From the 'happiness' of Hamlet cigar, the refreshment of Heineken, the Cinzano-wet blouse of Joan Collins to the dizzying heights of Pretty Polly legs and the surreal images of B&H cigarettes, CDP set the standard for years to come.
Inside Collett Dickenson Pearce, a collection of over 60 contributions from CDP's great and good, past and present, gives the behind-the-scene stories of the life and campaigns at the agency. Contributors to the book include Alan Parker, David Puttnam, Gray Jolliffe, Charles Saatchi, Hugh Hudson, Malcolm Gluck and Don McCullin, all of whom produced some of the best advertising in the world. David Bailey, Leonard Rossiter, Joan Collins, Alan Whicker, June Whitfield, Peter Sellers and Spike Milligan - just some of the personalities that helped make the ads - star in the accounts of ad-making at its best.
Much of CDP's stunning work from the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s - enduring photographic images, witty one-liners and provocative 'long-copy' ads - are illustrated here, giving the reader heady doses of art, humour and nostalgia.
