The text is aimed at beginners as well as experienced embroiderers and covers such techniques as Holbein stitch, Assisi work and drawn fabric embroidery. In addition there are complete projects, ranging from simple items easily carried out by the less experienced embroiderer to more ambitious adventures for the more experienced. Helen Fairfield is the author of two previous books on needlecrafts including "Patchwork from Mosaics" (Batsford 1985).
