Inhaltsangabe

Engaged in a police surveillance operation on the Somerset Levels, DC Kate Hamblin leaves the van momentarily and narrowly escapes death when it is blown apart by an incendiary device. Accused of abandoning two colleagues who died in the explosion, Kate is excluded from the resultant murder hunt and effectively suspended from duty. Anxious to nail the killer herself and clear her name, she risks all by entering into an unholy alliance with the murder team's chief suspect and finds herself not only targeted in a personal vendetta by her own DCI, but stalked by the very killer she is pursuing - a killer determined to silence his only witness for good...

Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

A former superintendent with Thames Valley Police, David Hodges is a prolific writer and former essayist. His first published crime thriller, Flashpoint, attracted critical media acclaim, prompting a second hard-hitting novel, Burnout, and his enthusiasm for crime fiction continued undiminished with Slice, the first of his thrillers published by Robert Hale. Firetrap is his latest nail-biting offering, but he promises there will be many others to follow. Hodges, who has two married daughters and four grandchildren, lives with his wife, Elizabeth, on the edge of the Somerset Levels, where he can fully indulge his love affair with crime writing.
