"Have you ever wondered if other half-this half-that creatures exist?" asked Ben. "What?" murmured Ariel, deep into her own book. "Didn't we talk about this last week? I mean, sure, if Centipede Dragon exists why shouldn't other, uh, unique, creatures like him exist?" In fact, one in particular did exist, but unlike Centipede Dragon, he was most definitely NOT benevolent. A naughty-natured newcomer infiltrates the otherwise peaceful village nestled by lake and mountains, wreaking havoc in his wake. When they discover who is behind the malay, Centipede Dragon, Ariel and Ben race to stop this mysterious being's nefarious actions against their beloved community.

Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

As a kid, I always felt such joy when I sat down with a box of crayons and a piece of paper. There was always some picture locked in my head bursting to get out. Art was always in my life in one form or other. In school, we did crayon scratch board, abstract drawings to learn geometry, or made books about summer vacation. Very early on I discovered ceramics and transferred my 2D passions into 3D masterpieces. As the years went by, I learned about contour line drawings, linocut printing, sewing, macrame, wood crafts, acrylic painting, chalk pastel; if it was offered I tried it. During class I began writing comic-like stories about a stuffed teddy bear who became a superhero. This is when my love for storytelling blossomed. I proceeded to write short stories, and then finally wrote my first real children's storybook, all in rhyme, about a Inuit kid and his sidekick penguin pal. And while the words flowed from me, the illustrations daunted and discouraged me. As life became more real and choosing a profession loomed in my near future, I continued to self-soothe with art. I pursued intaglio printmaking and ceramics in earnest in college, and even ended up with a double major in studio arts and chemistry. But what was I going to do with two seemingly wholly unrelated specialties? At the end of my college career, I met a children's storybook illustrator, and my desire to become one was re-ignited. I once again dusted off the charming story of Intuit and penguin who had adventure in their blood, and once again, the images remained unpolished and elusive. This is where the field of medical illustration entered my life. I considered myself extremely lucky that the two disparate fields I happened to love would exist in one profession, and what's more, that I had the means and opportunity to enter it. And so, I did. Many many years into my medical illustration career, I stumbled upon the symbol that would change my life and re-ignite that picture book passion once more. It would take another 9 years before completing the first Centipede Dragon book, but those intervening years were essential as I had much to learn about myself as an artist. But most importantly, I had to accept that my work was beautiful and special in its own right, even if no one else thought it to be. So I present to you my second book that introduces a bad "guy" making trouble for the "good" guys. There's theft, property destruction and arson, and above all, a piece of my heart and soul.
