Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

Maria E. Stimpson, Ph.D., is an educational psychologist, university instructor of psychology and the recipient of several writing awards at local and national levels, including the Nielsen Award from the National-Society of Arts and Letters for the teleplay “A Crime of Fashion.” Additional accolades include the Chicago Tribune’s publication of her dramatic short story “Snubbed” and first place honors from the Chicago Archdiocese and the NAACP ACT-SO competitions for her one-act play “Visitors from Our Proud Past”. Always working behind the scenes, she honed her writing skills in the sports department at FOX 32 Chicago, and with WGN Radio, WLIT-FM and WLUW-FM. As the youngest niece of Marvin Daniel Price (the central character in I Am A Baseball Player) and as the daughter of a locally prominent basketball coach, she is an avid sports enthusiast with secret hopes of owning her own sports franchise one day.

Gloria Price Stimpson is the youngest sister of Marvin Daniel Price (the central character in I AM A Baseball Player). She is a retired Chicago Public Schools (CPS) classroom teacher, children’s teacher-librarian, educational consultant and coordinator for DePaul University’s former program (School Achievement Structure), mentor in the Teachers for Chicago program, and educational consultant to CPS teachers and principals. Additionally, she was a student- teacher mentor and supervisor for Columbia College Chicago, the University of Northern Iowa, and the University of Michigan Flint, and instructor of prospective teachers at DePaul University and Loyola University Chicago. Throughout her educational career, she has regaled students, teachers and administrative faculty with read-a-louds and book presentations throughout the Chicagoland area.
