Inhaltsangabe

Two Wild West short stories from this New Mexico author carry on the outlaw legend of Billy the Kid . . . “Bastille Day” When Lew Wallace gave up the Governorship of New Mexico Territory and headed to Constantinople as Minister Plenipotentiary to the Ottoman Empire, he hoped he was leaving the troublesome young outlaw, Billy the Kid, behind. He was wrong. “The Best Escape” Billy the Kid made a name for himself by eluding New Mexico lawmen, one after another. But could he escape the dogged efforts of Lincoln County’s new sheriff, Pat Garrett? Plus, a BONUS selection, “Killing Billy the Kid,” from Sheriff Pat Garrett’s 1882 biography, The Authentic Life of Billy, the Kid.
