A.S. Roper was born Arthena Sewell at Andrews Airforce Base in Washington, D.C. She was formally educated in the state of West Virginia while spending her summers with family in the state of Texas. A.S. Roper is an educator that holds three Masters Degrees in: Public Administration, Teaching and Educational Leadership. A.S. Roper is a Philanthropist, Elected Official, Educator, and the creator of a social media leadership campaign named #WeReadWeLead emphasizing reading and student development. She writes and designs books that gives children visuals that will inspire them to seek more books and knowledge.

Bryan Sewell is the editor of A.S. Roper's children's books. Sewell is a Chemical Engineer graduate of North Carolina Agriculture & Technology University. Sewell is also a language enthusiast.
